Disclaimer
We want to emphasize that we tried to keep the data interpretations serving as a basis for the charts to a minimum, ideally including all available data, unless there are clear outliers. Any exceptions to this ideal will be mentioned and discussed in the comments to the charts. In addition, we would like to stress that these charts should not be seen, and are not meant to, as reflecting site contemporaneity, even when the summed 14C ranges of individual sites run parallel. Given the statistical errors in the measurement of radiocarbon, as well as other possible errors pertaining to sampling procedures, the 'old-wood' problem, or laboratories, the limits of using these summed timespans in arguments involving relative chronology are to be kept in mind (cf. the succinct discussion of the SUM function in C. Bronk Ramsey 2005,
OxCal progam v3.10.
